Another fab weekend for the books! I can’t believe how quick this year is flying by! We are now officially in the best month of the year. Mostly because it’s my birthday month, not only mine, but my 3 sister’s in law, my brother in law, a couple of friends of ours, and my husbands. Not to mention one of my favorite blogging/birthday buddies, Julie @ Just the Joy’s.
This weekend was a commitment-free, do what we please, relaxing type of weekend. Friday night I did nothing, I laid in bed with my dog, watched TV, and went to bed early. I was exhausted from a busy week & still catching up from Memorial Day weekend too. I finally got my Kate Spade shoulder bag in Dusty Emerald in the mail too, so that was a plus!
Saturday I spent the morning with my mom grocery shopping, lunching, and running other errands. It was a PERFECT day, around 85, sunny, no humidity, and just a little breeze. My aunt and I officially kicked off pool season at her house in the afternoon. I enjoyed a few cocktails and spent the afternoon catching up with some of my fam.
Saturday night my best friend Jodie of 23 years, (who also happens to be my sister in law, we married brothers!) came to town with her family. We had a GNO for our birthdays since we are only a day apart we always try to celebrate together. Her and I, my mom, and our other friend Jessica went to a local Italian restaurant called Verucchis. I had too much Chianti and chicken picatta, and 1 million appetizers and pieces of bread. It was awesome. Then Jessica told the waitress that we were celebrating birthdays so we got to enjoy cake & everyone in the restaurant sang “happy birthday” to us. It was great; we had a lot of laughs, and took a long trip down memory lane. Both Jodie and Jessica have been lifelong friends of mine so we always love to reminisce when we’re together.
Sunday morning we got up and caught up on Fargo episodes. Then we went to my in laws house where Jodie, and her husband and kids were staying. We visited with them for a while then decided to go grab a beer. It was a beautiful day, but reallllly humid so a cold beer just sounded awesome. Joe has been working about 50+ hours a week for a few months now then on Sunday’s he usually goes out to the property to work. This Sunday he decided he needed to just relax so it was nice to get to spend some time with him. We actually close on the loan for the house tomorrow so I know I only have about another 6 weeks before he starts his second job of building our home, then I’ll never see him. We ended the night watching Monuments Men (SO GOOD!) and going to bed early!
BUSY month ahead it seems with all the birthdays! Happy Birthday MONTH!! xoxo
