Happy Friday blogland! I'm SO EXCITED to say that I am 1 day post 5 day transfer (1dp5dt) and officially PUPO!! (Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise). I am feeling really good great about this cycle & have complete confidence that this will be it for us! For this weeks favorites I'll just recap a little bit about this week and how the transfer went. It was such a whirlwind week I didn't even have time to start drafting my regular Friday post!
This was a really short week for me, I only worked 2 days which was awesome sauce! Monday morning we came home from our Labor Day camping trip (post coming soon!) and spent the rest of the day unpacking, doing laundry, and relaxing. Tuesday and Wednesday I worked then Thursday was our transfer day so I took the entire day off. We had a lady from a granite distributor come to the house to show us some samples and give us some prices for our kitchen counter tops. I honestly never thought that we would be able to afford granite, but there are some very reasonable & affordable prices out there. There are also some really expensive options too, like $90 a square foot, but we really like one of their in stock options and at only $44 a square foot for around 40sq. ft of counter top space in our kitchen, we are thinking of taking the plunge.
We had lunch then made the hour drive to Rockford for the transfer. We got right in and they got me ready. The embryologists came in to do their confirmations (verify names, birth dates, etc. to make sure we are getting the correct embryo) and told us that our embryo survived the thaw, looked really good, and that they had done assisted hatching! I was thrilled to hear that as I wasn't sure from what I had read if they would go ahead with that or not. Our nurse Deana explained that sometimes the embryo has a hard time hatching after it's been frozen because the shell can harden during the freeze. That's why they would do the assisted hatching, but the embryologist would make the final decision. We were also told a few weeks ago when we had to decide what embryo we wanted to use that one of our six embryos was just a hair farther along in development than the others so that's the one that we chose. I hope between that, the assisted hatching, and the condition of my lining after weeks of Lupron injections that all factors are what they need to be to make us a baby.
The actual transfer went well, less painful than last time, and 100% less stressful this time having Joe with me. The drive up felt like it took 5 minutes, Joe cracked jokes while we were waiting to make sure that I was laughing & happy. He mentioned this blog post of mine from over a month ago and I couldn't believe that he remembered it. After the transfer was over we watched an episode of Family Guy to make us laugh and help pass the 30 minute wait that we had before I could get up. When we got home we watched a movie on Netfilx called 10 Rules for Sleeping Around followed by some How I Met Your Mother, which guarantees some laughs. Today I plan to watch the 3 movies that my bestie sent me after my BFN last month, Son in Law, Bill & Ted, and Night at the Roxbury. Those will definitely help keep my spirits up and my mind off anything negative.
lots of water on the way down to make sure my bladder was full for the ultrasound

Today I am home on bed rest and have minimal plans for the rest of the weekend. Possibly a bon fire tomorrow night at my SIL's house, but other than that I'm relaxing and watching movies and taking it easy for the rest of the weekend. I have about 10 more days before my first beta so I will do as much as I can to take my mind off of that without overexerting myself in any way.
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
