March
is here & I couldn’t be more excited!
March isn’t typically one of my favorite months. It usually that crappy time between winter
& spring here in Illinois, it’s damp, cold, and rainy. We’ve been really lucky this winter with hardly
any snow at all and some unseasonably warm days already. Next weeks’ forecast shows days in the 70’s here
and I am definitely not complaining.
Even more exciting about this month is our consultation appointment for
our DEIVF cycle. Am I starting to sound
like a broken record with my blog posts?
Probably, but I can’t believe that we are finally about to officially
embark on this journey.
Lately Joe and I have been working on some finishing touches to the house. We finally put the trim up in our bedroom and it looks so beautiful and complete. We’ve also been putting things on the walls and filling in all those blank spaces we’ve had to look at for the last 9 months. I redid my grandma’s hutch and filled it up with her China that I had boxed up in the basement. We also hung some old windows up that I’m going to adorn with wreaths I got from Magnolia Market. Things are really starting to come together and we are loving making our house a home.
Being
that its March means that the first day of spring is right around the corner
and actually falls the weekend we are in Georgia. I cannot to put my sweaters away and get out
all of my cute warmer weather clothes. I’ve
been trying reallllly hard not to spend money on any clothing, shoes, purses,
etc. I did however, find this super cute pair of Minnetonka wedges and luckily
will be able to get them as an Easter gift from my mom so I don’t have to spend
the money on them, although for the reasonable price, I definitely would buy
these for myself too.
Speaking
of saving money, my friend and I are staring Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace
University this weekend. I got my kit in
the mail last week and the classes start Friday. I am nervous but also excited to have a
little guidance on how to get ourselves out of debt. We don’t have a ton, but what we do have I’d
really like to see get paid off sooner than later. With this donor egg cycle being all out of
pocket, we will need to save as much money as possible.
There
are other areas that need some improvement in my life too, most important being
my diet. I really want to focus on
getting healthier and more in shape for this cycle. I don’t believe that diet and exercise alone
will change the fact that I have fertility issues, I do however, believe that
it cannot hurt to make improvements for the success of the cycle. Girl Scouts were out in full force to totally
ruin the streak I was on with my diet. I
need to refocus, throw those cookies out (or just eat them all), and start
being better about what I’m eating.
Exercise-wise I’ve been doing great.
Hitting my 10k step goal each day, getting on my treadmill each morning,
and trying to take a 2+ mile walk after work each day (weather permitting of
course.) have been my goals and I’ve been sticking to them pretty well.
And
last, have you guys ever heard of Norwex?
My mind was seriously blown away when I went to a party a few weeks
ago. The first thing she had us do was
wash our hands with their sugar scrub and dry them with their hand towel and I
couldn’t believe how soft the towel was and how amazing my hands felt. I ended up ordering their mop & decided
to host a party. If anyone is interested
in any products you can check out their catalog online & order through me
if you’d like!! My party is March 13th & I’ll keep it open for a
few days after. I got a travel kit of
the Enviro cloth & the window cloth and have seriously cleaned my entire
house with this tiny 6x6 cloth and water.
No cleaning products whatsoever!
Ryan and I are doing FPU, Lena, and we love it! I was a little scared to start the process, but it's been great. I feel like we finally have a handle on where our money is going and why. We may not have credit card debt, but we have a car payment and our mortgage, and we'd love to eat away at those! It's gonna help you so much!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm thinking of you guys this month and praying for all the best! <3
Definitely post the link to your party when it opens-I've heard amazing things and would love to try to eliminate some of the cleaning products we use!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the lamp above your table! We are looking at a similar one from Lowe's. How cool that Chip and Joanna have a store you can buy from! Thanks for the link, I definitely will be checking that out!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I absolutely LOVE your house. I'm kind of stupid when it comes to decor (my home decor pretty much all comes from Target) but your sense of style is so cute.
ReplyDeleteI was in the mindset that food didn't necessarily play a big part in my fertility either until I went to get pregnant this last time. And I'm not saying that diet would solve your infertility. I'm definitely not saying that, trust me. But I switched to a high alkaline diet and was able to get pregnant right away. I was just blown away at what a difference that made for my body. I think I have a very sensitive system. What I am really trying to say is that good diet and some exercise is definitely going to just get you set up for the best success you can have for your DEIVF. I am so excited for you guys and I really have this deep feeling in my gut that this is going to work for you.
Sounds like a big month for you!! I love seeing all your house updates on Instagram and I had no idea that Magnolia Market had an online store! I'm in trouble now. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your exercise goal! You got this girl.
ReplyDeleteWe are doing the exact same thing! I'm trying to finish up all my indoor upgrades and decorating this month because I'm running out steam! Plus, like you...the end of March means we get to move forward with the next IVF chapter...it seems like the day will never come! Can't wait for more updates, lady!
ReplyDeletenot gonna lie, i am a bit nervous and don't want to do one of those FPU's. let us know how it goes!
ReplyDeletei laughed so hard at 'throw those cookies out (or just eat them all)'. i eat everything instead of throwing it out.
the house looks amazing! good job on all your exercise as well, you're so awesome :)
i'm super excited for you and can't wait to hear all about this cycle :)
your house is coming together very nice. love reading your blog posts. Wanted to wish you the best of luck on your upcoming appointment.
ReplyDeleteThe house looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how excited I am for a complete stranger to get pregnant.
Being in good shape will help you so much with not only the cycle, but the hopeful pregnancy!
Your house looks great!! I also just wanted to send you a little encouragement about FPU. I actually didn't hear about FPU before I heard about his Total Money Makeover book so I have just read that (and listened to his radio show and devoured every piece of info on his website and use his app...haha) but my husband and I love it!! I've been studying up on the process for a couple months while preparing for baby step one and we officially started last month. It definitely feels like it's going to take forever (once the excitement of getting it all together wears off) but one of the biggest lessons to learn is patience but you've got super strength in that area so I know you guys will do great. I'm so excited for this next part of your fertility journey, too! Sending you lots of love and good vibes!!! xx
ReplyDeleteSo much awesome stuff going on for you lately and coming up!! I love the decor and hutch you redid! So perfect! I never heard of Norwex (spelling?) but I'm going to go check it out right now!
ReplyDeleteSO EXCITED for y'alls consultation. I cannot wait to hear more!!!!!!!!!!!! God is so great and will guide you the entire way. Also I am obsessed with those wedges. I think I need them too!
