I rarely ever have it together enough on a Sunday evening to draft up a weekend recap post, but with the time change I'm of course wide awake when I should be winding down for the evening, what better way to burn some brain energy than to write! For not having any plans this weekend except a baby shower, this was a pretty busy weekend!
Friday night we went to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Bartley's. My little (not so little anymore) cousin bought a new Harley this weekend and Joe helped him along the way going with him to look at it, take a ride on it, pick it up, etc. so my aunt and uncle treated us to dinner and it was fabulous! I definitely had too much to drink but we had a lot of laughs and I got to eat my favorite meal of all time so I was a happy girl! I slacked and didn't take any pictures Friday, so unlike me!
Saturday was errand day. Groceries, lunch, Target, and Home Depot. Once I was all done with that stuff I took my first bike ride of the year with my cousin on his new Harley! Still snow on the ground, but it was up to about 47 degrees so it wasn't bad! He and I have had plans for the last several years to get replicas of our grandpas Navy tattoos that he got in Milwaukee like 70 some years ago. We took a ride to the tattoo parlor to make our appointments! I'm super pumped! My artist is really excited because he loves the idea of the old tattoo and he loves to do eagles and mine is an anchor with an eagle, I cannot wait to get it!
cute new top from Target.. #goalfailing
we got our trim started! going for a rustic look!

Saturday night I spent 3 hours putting one of my Ikea dressers together. It was exhausting. Joe was working on the flooring, probably the 2nd biggest project of the house after the drywall. I heard a temper come out I haven't heard in years, but I'm happy to say it's 90% done. All we have left is the entry way and our bedroom. We are really getting close to being move-in ready!
Sunday we had a baby shower for our friend Christina. She's expecting a baby girl, Rosa, in 6 weeks! It was so fun to see her and catch up with her. She lives about an hour and a half away from home so we don't see enough of her at all! She looks amazing and I cannot wait to meet baby girl!
The biggest moment for me this weekend was getting my positive OPK! I can finally make my appointment for my endo biopsy and I'm hoping to get that done this week! Then we will have to wait about 10 days for the results of that and the blood work. I just love how much progress we are making on two of the biggest things in our lives right now. It's going to be a challenge I'm sure, but I'm up for it! I'm looking forward to a quiet week followed by Will Call weekend for our wine club and hopefully some fun St. Patty's day festivities!
ending with a smile! : )
Love the target top. Really love the rustic trim! And yay for that smiley! Hope the time flies until the blood work results!!!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a super fun weekend! Time with family, friends, and more house progress! Where will you be getting the eagle/anchor tattoo? That is such a special tribute to your grandfather. I am loving the wood you chose for the trim as well. You've really got such a great vision for your home and I can't wait to see it all come together because all the details are simply gorgeous. And I see you got the Hemnes dresser put together too...was it as much of a pain in the butt to put together as I keep hearing? Maybe you can just deliver me that assembled one and I'll give you the one we're getting? I'm sure you could easily stick it on the back of your bike HAHA. Seriously though, so glad to hear you had such a wonderful weekend and loving the progress on the house and of course your positive OPK!!! Good things are on the horizon!
