Five on Friday

One. The House
Things with the house are getting pretty chaotic.  Actually things with both of the houses, the one we currently live in and the one we are trying to build.  Our current house is currently FOR SALE.  Yep, that's right, officially on the market, for sale by owner!  We are hoping to sell soon.  We will then be moving in with my parents.  They have a huge bedroom in a finished basement that we were invited to move into whenever we need to.  Currently, my brother who is going to Grad school at U of I lives down there on the random weekends he is home.  I used to back in my community college days as well.  It will be an ideal of a set up as it can be for living back home with the 'rents.  The basement has a nice TV, fireplace, tons of movies, and it's a walk out so we will easily be able to take the dog out at 2AM.  As far as the yet-to-exist house is concerned, we are still working on estimates, loans, price matching, etc.  LOTS of paperwork, emails, phone calls, and lists being made every day!

Two. TTC Exchange
I'm so excited to be a part of this awesome fertility community.  It's amazing how social media can connect you with so many wonderful people.  My girl Chelsea @ Starbucks, Peace, and the Pursuit of a Baby has put a ton of working into coordinating this effort and I am so excited to be paired up with my girl Heather. You can follow her on IG @thefitinfertile.  The theme of this exchange is Local Love.  This should be a fun and unique way to show support for one another while we fight infertility!

Three.  Smoothies
Yep, I jumped on the smoothie bandwagon like so many others out there.  I made smoothies a few years ago, but I never really did get "into" so to speak.  Well I decided to try it again.  Right now I'm using frozen strawberries, frozen mixed berries, Trop 50 orange juice, strawberry whey protein, and spinach.  I learned a pretty clever from my girl Kym @ Travel Babbles I'm so glad she shared on IG.  Bagging them separately so they're prepped and ready to go was GENIUS!  I use probably a cup of OJ (I don't measure, I just pour), and a full scoop of whey (about 30g of protein!), and they turn out delish!

Four.  Guinot BiOxygene
We all know how important moisturizer is.  My friend Jessica who is an esthetician for Skin Dimensions Day Spa always says if nothing else, use your moisturizer!  I've used a whole bunch of different moisturizers, but lately I've been LOVING this Guinot BiOXYGENE Face Cream it's sooo amazing.  It smells really good and it's really light.  The only downsize is the price tag.  This baby runs about $75 a pop.  It's definitely not something I hope to get addicted to, but every once in awhile I might have to treat myself.  Gotta get those spa points racked up!

Five.  End Endo Photo Challenge
If you follow me on Instagram (@lenaridley) then you've probably seen some posts related to this photo challenge I'm doing this month in support of endometriosis awareness.  I'm not big into photo challenges, I can't commit I guess, but this one I'm trying to take serious.  It's only been a week, but I feel like I've done pretty good so far.  It's just another fun way to connect to ladies that are battling this disease.  There are so many of us out there, it's truly amazing, we are all fighters who will kick endo's ass!

That's it for this chick!  Happy Friday!

  1. Congratulations on listing your home for sale! I'm not sure how you do it. It was so chaotic - not to mention there was Christmas, and company in town in the midst of all this! I hope it sells soon so you can be one step closer to your new home! How can I find out more about the TTC Exchange?

  2. so exciting about selling your home! we're currently living with my parents, too, in an attempt to save more for a down payment. But our sitch is less ideal, we have a small room, but our own connected bathroom. I'm also super close to my mom, so I love it...and my fiance tolerates it haha. happy weekend!

  9. Yay for smoothie bags!! I actually made 12 last night :) I use pure OJ too, I've read conflicting information about if OJ is actually good for you or not, but I'll pretend the Vitamin C outweighs what the critics say ;) Last week I had kiwi, spinach and green apple as well as a peach, pineapple and strawberry. This week I have pineapple, strawberry, and banana. Someone suggested using frozen spinach, which was a great idea in theory but when it melts spinach gets all over the place, so I'll be switching back to regular fresh spinach next time!
